With the Cross|Up, you can use the Designer Software to remap your buttons in the controller. This is useful because you can map your buttons how you want, and all you have to do for button check is ensure you're on default controls!
However, since the Cross|Up has more face buttons than a basic arcade stick, you have more options to work with - this helps you get the most out of your character or game, or simply can make the layout more comfortable and ergonomic for you.
Overview
Here's a the quick basics to button remapping. Below is a more in depth process.
- Download the Designer Software before plugging the Cross|Up into your computer.
- Open the Designer Software and "Load Layouts from Controller" (top-left of window) to ensure you don't lose what you already have saved on your Cross|Up*.
- Choose the profile you wish to edit in the "Select Layout" drop-down menu (top of window).
- On the layout itself, click the button you wish to change.
- A drop-down menu will appear - Double click what bind you want for that button (press "ESC" to exit from the drop-down menu).
- Repeat with any buttons you wish to edit.
- Click "Save Layouts to Controller" (top-left of window)* after you're finished.
You can remap all the buttons that you see on the layout to whatever functions available. Yes, that even means the stick directions. You can even disable buttons if you don't find any use for them. Do what feels best to you, or go crazy and make everything "R1"
*If the Designer Software is failing to Load/Save, try switching USB ports and choosing the specific COM port your Cross|Up is using

In Depth Process
First, before you plug in your Cross|Up, download the Designer Software.

In the top of the Designer window you'll see a drop-down menu labelled "Select Layout."

Click on it and choose the layout you wish to edit.

To edit a button, simply click on it.
For now, let's simply swap "X" and "R1."

After clicking the "R1" this is the menu I get.

Click the Actions subment. Then double-click the "X" bind.

This is how your layout should look.
Now, let's get "R1" back on the layout.

This should pop up when you click Load or Save Layouts to Controller. Click the "Use A Specific COM Port" and choose which port your controller is using.
