C.O.M.B.O. Extension Info Page

Competitive.  Optimized.  Multi.  Button.  Options.

The C.O.M.B.O. Extension is a 2-in-1 arcade button. It allows you to create your own unique button layout without drilling holes or purchasing a new controller.

Parts

C.O.M.B.O. Extensions (CXs) are composed of two main parts: the main (C.O.M.B.O.) button and the secondary (EXTENSION) button.

Main Button

The main button has the same exact features of the C.O.M.B.O. Button (CB) and is composed of four main parts: the Ring, the Plunger, the Optimizer, and the Well.

  • Ring
    • This locks onto the top of the C.O.M.B.O. Button and keeps all of the parts together.
  • Plunger
    • Composed of two parts: the Plunger and the Cap.
    • The Plunger allows for different actuation points, which we call speeds: Classic (1.0mm), Super (0.5mm), and Ultra (0.3mm).
    • The Cap can disconnect from the Plunger. This allows any C.O.M.B.O. Button to install a clear Cap to showcase custom art. Similarly, swapping the default Cap with Caps of other colors will completely change the button's look.
  • Optimizer
    • The Optimizer (OP) silences and shortens the total travel distance of your buttons press.
    • The are three OP options: Classic (1.5mm), Super (1.0mm), and Ultra (0.65mm).
  • Well
    • The Well holds the other parts within it.
    • The Cherry MX Low Profile Speed Silver is installed onto the bottom of the Well.

Each part of the main button is modular with other CXs and CBs.

Extension Button

The Extension button is a square cap on a Kailh PG1425 switch. Just like a standard button, you can change the binds the Extension button is mapped to.

For full details, visit the Installation section below.

If included with your CX, we recommend using the CX shield to protect the Extension button during travel.
If your Extension cap ends up falling off, please follow our troubleshooting instructions.

  • Classic Speed:
    • 1.0mm Actuation Point.
    • Indicated by three (3) dots on the bottom of the Plunger (see image below).
  • Super Speed:
    • 0.5mm Actuation Point.
    • Indicated by two (2) dots on the bottom of the Plunger (see image below).
  • Ultra Speed:
    • 0.3mm Actuation Point.
    • Indicated by one (1) dot on the bottom of the Plunger (see image below).

Optimizers

The Optimizer rests at the bottom of the Well and has three main functions: to silence, soften, and shorten the button's press.

The Optimizer is made out of silicone, which creates a soft bottom of a press. This helps lessen strain on your hands but also makes your buttons presses less noisy, allowing you to hide more of your presses from your opponent in competitive play.

The Optimizer comes in three different sizes, each changing the total travel distance of a full press.

  • Classic Optimizer (OP):
    • 1.5mm total travel distance.
    • Compatible with Classic, Super, and Ultra Speed Plungers.
  • Super OP:
    • 1.0mm total travel distance.
    • Compatible with Super and Ultra Speed Plungers.
  • Ultra OP:
    • 0.65mm total travel distance.
    • Compatible only with the Ultra Speed Plunger.

Note: The CX functions properly without an OP. If you prefer louder button presses, you are able to remove the OP from a CX.
