All of the parts of a C.O.M.B.O. are modular. This allows you to change the Speed and Full Press distance of your button, as well as do any color, art, and part swap that you want.
In this blog we will provide you the full list of parts that come with a C.O.M.B.O., a step-by-step guide of parts swapping, how to get art into your C.O.M.B.O., and a clip from C.O.M.B.O. guide that goes over the general customization process.

Parts & Modularity
C.O.M.B.O.s are composed of four main parts: the Ring, the Plunger, the Optimizer, and the Well.
Each part of the C.O.M.B.O. is modular with other CBs and C.O.M.B.O. Extensions.

-
Ring
- This locks onto the top of the C.O.M.B.O. and keeps all of the parts together.
-
Plunger
- Composed of two parts: the Plunger and the Cap.
- The Plunger allows for different actuation points, which we call Speeds: Classic (1.0mm), Super (0.5mm), and Ultra (0.3mm).
- For more details on the Speed options, check out our guide on C.O.M.B.O. Speeds.
- The Cap can disconnect from the Plunger. This allows any C.O.M.B.O. to install a clear Cap to showcase a palette swap or custom art. Similarly, swapping the default Cap with Caps of other colors will completely change the button's look too!
-
Optimizer
- The Optimizer (OP) silences and shortens the total travel distance of your buttons press.
- The are three OP options: Classic (1.5mm), Super (1.0mm), and Ultra (0.65mm).
- For more details on the Optimizer options, check out our guide on C.O.M.B.O. Optimizers.
-
Well
- The Well holds the other parts within it.
- The Cherry MX Low Profile Speed Silver switch is installed onto the bottom of the Well.
Customization
The following is the instructions for removing each part of the C.O.M.B.O. and reinstalling them. If at any point you are having issues please post in our Discord or reach out to support@hitboxarcade.com.
Open the C.O.M.B.O.
Grip the Ring of the C.O.M.B.O. by one of the notches and then rotate it counter-clockwise to unlock it from the Well. You can do this while your C.O.M.B.O. is still installed in your controller!
If you push down on the Plunger it will help stabilize the Well and prevent the whole button from rotating.
