Welcome to a New Era of Fighting Games
This product is a 3rd party controller and currently under development.
Thank you to all of our Kickstarter backers for making this a reality!
The Hit Box Cross|Up will complete its development and be available for purchase in 2020.
The Hit Box Cross|Up is the literal "crossover" of a Hit Box, a joystick, and a game pad. It brings the best of all fighting game controllers together into a single unit using both digital and analog directions on a single device—all while retaining the classic function and form of a joystick. Unlock precise movement and specific game tech options using the directional buttons while keeping your preferred method of play.

The Next Level of Control
As fighting games have evolved over decades, the arcade stick—the joystick—has always been the symbol of the community. It signifies the spirit of one-on-one competition: from putting in your quarters at the arcade and holding the joystick for the first time, now simulated in home consoles everywhere. The Cross|Up is a modest yet significant evolution of this spirit. By including key features previously only available in other controllers, it allows for more accessible mastery of your movement and other gameplay options—all while retaining the feel of arcades past.
By sharing the workload of your joystick with additional buttons, this can reduce stress and awkward motions you may come across on a traditional joystick setup. Popular advanced motions such as "tiger knees" can be done by simply inputting a quarter circle forward/back on the joystick, then tapping the up directional button.
This distributes the motion between two hands, giving you maximum control with more efficient effort—whenever you need it in a match.
The joystick has been a cornerstone of fighting games for many years. This trait is both present in its form and function. The Cross|Up is fundamentally a joystick with options which players may use—or choose not to use—during gameplay.
The Cross|Up was a designed so that the joystick is still the main form of movement. 90% of the time in a match, joystick players would be playing their games as normal. It's in that 10% where the directional buttons come in: when you need that extra precise movement to ensure that your dash, jump frames, sidestep or parry comes out exactly when you want it.
As with any Hit Box Arcade controller, the Cross|Up is built to exceed even the highest controller standards.
- Sturdy metal case.
- Real Sanwa Denshi arcade buttons.
- Sanwa JLF lever.
- Detachable high quality cord.
The Cross|Up isn't just a "stick with buttons". It will include more features out-of-the-box to further allow customization and accessibility, all in one controller.
Currently, we are investigating the possible features:
- Full Button Remapping
- Switch native
- Many More Features to be Announced (It's Day 1, we can't spoil everything!)
