Weekly Round-Up #5: Combo Breaker Summary

Hi everyone! Team HB is back from one of the most memorable Combo Breaker… ever! Here’s a quick breakdown of our highlights.

Booth

Our goal this year was to simply get more people to try out a Hit Box and Smash Box. Thanks to you guys, that goal was achieved and THEN some. Our booth was always packed with people throughout the event, even into almost midnight (thanks to the 24 hour venue)! We’d like to sincerely thank everyone that came by and talked with us. We’d also like to give a special shout-out to everyone who exclaimed “what?!”, “that’s cheap!” or “EZZZZ” while learning to play in their few minutes with our controllers—it makes our job that much more fun.

Players

Combo Breaker is first and foremost, a community tournament. And, the Hit Box Army didn’t disappoint. Here are some of the highlights:

  • HB ZombMu, getting top 17 in DBFZ.
  • HB JayTo, getting top 33 in DBFZ
  • HB Ominous, getting top 33 in MK. Also, his absolutely STELLAR performance against Team Florida in the 10v10 #1vs4
  • HB Sora, our very own marketing manager, getting top 25 in Soul Calibur 6

Some additional members of the army also performed brilliantly this weekend as well!

  • Skarmand/Liam, making a return to Skullgirls top 8 this year clinching 5th!
  • Strikefirst | Cobatron, one of the OG Hit Box owners, winning the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown tournament!

If you made notable placements this past weekend, please tweet at us at @Hit_Box on Twitter! We’d love to shout out your accomplishments to the rooftops.
